Before
Rancho 2" lift, 350 SBC, SM420, 3 sp. transfer case, ARB locker rear, Auburn LSD front, shackle reversal front, ProCar seats, full roll cage, ConFer auxillary tank, York OBA, Ramsey worm drive winch, Optima red top battery, fenderwell exit headers and glasspack mufflers.

Mudrak's Spring Over Conversion
Stock FJ40 springs, Rancho 9000 shocks, OME shackles and bushings, All Pro steering arms, FZJ80 tie rod ends. front axle moved up 1 1/2" by ButchBuilt frame extensions for better geometry and higher approach angle. Spring perches reinforced. New 37-11.0R17 Bridgestone Mud Dueler tires were fitted on custom 2.5" backspaced rims by Truedesign Wheels, CO. Decker's anti-wrap bar installed. Rear fenderwell modified for full articulation.

Concurrent modifications
Factory cable lockers F & R, minitruck disk brake convesion w/ vented rotors and 4Runner calipers, Warn XD9000i winch and blockhugger headers w/ a 2 1/2" Flowmaster muffler. Replaced OBA tank to under driver's seat. ButchBuilt front diff protection installed. Rear full floater axle / Toyota disc brake conversion done. Gear reduction 3HP starter installed. Caprice police interceptor 140 amp CS130 one wire alternator installed. Cibie H4 headlamps installed.

Rubithon 2001
Casualties: melted left motor mount from header heat, dinged SOR tailight protector at the slabs (going down a ledge everyone else went around, except for Tien Do who lost inverted a spring and lost a roof rack following me)

Never leave things well enough alone
The headers were replaced with ramshorn manifolds (I miss the headers sound). The SM420 was replaced with a 6.34:1 NV4500. The 3 sp. transfer was replaced by a split case with 3:1 Marks4WD gear set. The 153 tooth 25 lb. stock Chevy flywheel was replaced by a 168 tooth 40 lb. Centerforce flywheel. New Centerforce clutch and pressure plate. New rear bumper by DreamFab. One piece factory tailgate installed

Rubithon 2002
Casualties: Overheating at high speeds (slowed down to 55 mph), burst clutch slave cyl., leaking clutch master cyl. (replaced on the trail). Hole in transfer case (chipped tooth in transfer gears? - repaired with fuel tank repair kit, drove home w/o leak)

Mods in progress or planned
Factory softtop conversion, 5 core dimpled tube Redwood Radiator, Stage I Stewart components water pump and modified thermostat. Line-X interior w/ stock mustard yellow color.

Possibly engine rebuild with hi-press/volume Melling oil pump, Comp Cams 4x4 cam, 1.6:1 billet roller rockers. TPI fuel injection in 2005 (hopefully when 1975 vehicles are smog exempt)

If available, used (read:flat) OME medium front, heavy rear 60 springs.
